The Academy:
Unites the most distinguished scientists and scholars to solve the key problems of Lithuanian science, culture, language, economy and social progress and to carry out fundamental research in various branches of knowledge
Promotes and maintains the high level of research and higher education and contributes to the cooperation between the Lithuanian research centres and those in other countries
Acts as a scientific expert on key issues of economy, culture, social and other fields, participates in drafting the strategies for their development, identifies the priorities for research and high technologies and assists to their implementation

The Academy is a public organization uniting Lithuanian scholars of catholic orientation residing both in Lithuania and abroad. The Academy edits and publishes scholarly publications, organizes scholarly conferences and congresses. The Academy has 562 members residing in Lithuania and 139 members from abroad.

The Conference coordinates the activities between all universities as well as the intercourse with governmental and local institutions. Board of Directors of Lithuanian Science Institutes

The Board is a public organization joining the directors of state science institutes and university science institutes. The Board coordinates the activities between science institutes, municipal and state institutions. It also serves as an expert in research and development in Lithuania.

The Conference of Chairmen of Senates (Councils) of the Lithuanian Universities and Research Institutes

The Conference is an independent public organization formed by majority of the chairmen of senates (councils) of the Lithuanian state research and higher education institutions. The Conference assists to consolidation of democratic self-government and autonomy of the Lithuanian research and higher education institutions and takes care of the integration and development of these institutions.

Lithuanian Scientific Society

The Society is a non-government association of scientists and their organizations. It encourages the participation of all scientists regardless of the fields of their activity, institution, position or scientific title.
The goals of the Society are as follows:
Development of fundamental and applied research considering the needs of Lithuanian economy and culture
Protection of creative and social interests of the scientists
Strengthening of a self-supporting basis of science and the responsibility of scientists, formation of a positive attitude of the general public to research methodologies for the purpose of the general welfare
